Who are the Friends of HOREMI?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We are (still) a handful of private spon\u00adsors from Germany who decided in mid-2023 to further expand the loose support of HOREMI and to found a non-profit asso\u00adci\u00ada\u00adtion for this purpose. Our goal: to give chil\u00addren\u2019s lives a posi\u00adtive direc\u00adtion. Through commu\u00adnity, accom\u00admo\u00adda\u00adtion, food, educa\u00adtion and prospects.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Why should I support this initiative in far away Uganda?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. because HOREMI really needs you.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. because you prob\u00adably can.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. because this will be some of the best invested money in your life: a handful of dollars buys a child a future.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    Is HOREMI reputable?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    HOREMI has been regis\u00adtered with the local author\u00adi\u00adties as a non-profit \u201cCommu\u00adnity Based Orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtion, CBO\u201d (Certifi\u00adcate of Regis\u00adtra\u00adtion) and recog\u00adnized as a non-profit orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtion (Permit Of Oper\u00ada\u00adtion) since 2015.     Will my donation arrive safely?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Yes. If you donate directly to HOREMI via Wise.com, WorldRemit.com or use the conve\u00adnient way via our German PayPal account, your dona\u00adtion will arrive safely at HOREMI. You can find more infor\u00adma\u00adtion on our dona\u00adtion page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    What are the administrative costs? Are there any fees or other deductions?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    There are no costs (zero) on our side (Friends of HOREMI). If you use PayPal, fees will be charged which are beyond our control. For the transfer to Uganda and the exchange of Euro\/Dollar into the local currency Uganda Shilling (UGX) we use the cheapest option (transfer services like WorldRemit.com or Wise.com).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    Can I suspend a sponsorship?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Times where money is tight do not only occur in Uganda. In this case it would be nice if you could let us know briefly at hello@horemi.org<\/a>. And of course HOREMI will be very happy if we can welcome you back as a sponsor any time later on.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    How can I cancel my sponsorship?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Just send us a short message with the keyword \u201ccancel\u00adla\u00adtion\u201d to hello@horemi.org<\/a>. Your spon\u00adsor\u00adship will be termi\u00adnated, no ques\u00adtions asked. You are not bound to any dead\u00adlines either (and are of course you will be welcome back at any time).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    Does my sponsorship donation exclusively benefit one child?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    No. The amount of the spon\u00adsor\u00adship dona\u00adtion is based on the approx\u00adi\u00admate needs of a child for food, school fees, accom\u00admo\u00adda\u00adtion, etc. And since not all chil\u00addren neces\u00adsarily have spon\u00adsors, but all are always hungry, the spon\u00adsor\u00adship dona\u00adtion ends up in the big pot from which the entire orphanage is financed. However, the spon\u00adsored chil\u00addren know that they have a sponsor and are happy about it.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    Are donations in kind also possible and useful?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    No. All neces\u00adsary goods are purchased locally by HOREMI. This also supports the local economy, which in turn promotes accep\u00adtance within the commu\u00adnity. HOREMI is also an economic factor on site!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    Can I communicate directly with the responsible persons in Uganda?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Where in Uganda do Naume, Kenneth and the HOREMI kids live?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    HOREMI is located in Bugweri District in eastern Uganda. This is about 30 kilo\u00adme\u00adters north of Lake Victoria and about 130 kilo\u00adme\u00adters east of the capital Kampala.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
