The fact that the HOREMI school was completed in time for the start of the 2024 school year and can now get started is nothing short of a minor miracle. Over 900 pupils from Stuttgart\u2019s Geschwister-Scholl-Gymna\u00adsium made a signif\u00adi\u00adcant contri\u00adbu\u00adtion to this. They financed almost the entire corru\u00adgated iron school roof with their dona\u00adtion of 3,000 euros! The pupils raised all the money them\u00adselves during a simu\u00adla\u00adtion game in which they trans\u00adformed their school into a state complete with parlia\u00adment, ministries and over 100 compa\u00adnies \u2014 from restau\u00adrants to photo studios. And this state obvi\u00adously not only made good profits and managed its finances care\u00adfully, but also took its social mission seri\u00adously. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This bene\u00adfited other orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtions in addi\u00adtion to HOREMI, and the project managers voted demo\u00adc\u00adra\u00adt\u00adi\u00adcally on the selec\u00adtion of dona\u00adtion recip\u00adi\u00adents. Fortu\u00adnately for HOREMI, one of the teachers found out about the school project and presented it to his \u201cschool govern\u00adment\u201d. They imme\u00addi\u00adately liked the idea of \u201cschool helps school\u201d. Espe\u00adcially as educa\u00adtion is not some\u00adthing that can be taken for granted by chil\u00addren in Uganda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The joy at HOREMI and all its \u201cfriends\u201d was corre\u00adspond\u00adingly huge. A thou\u00adsand thanks to the Geschwister-Scholl-Gymna\u00adsium for this great campaign!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
