From very small begin­nings, Naume and Kenneth have created a home for around 30 chil­dren over the course of eight years.

The orphanage project grew step by step. Bricks were bought indi­vid­u­ally and the first brick hut was built. Initially, the chil­dren slept on the floor, beds were only added later. A simple kitchen was added, then a wash­room and a latrine. But the most impor­tant goal was to offer orphans not only a place to survive, but also the warmth of a nest in a family-like commu­nity.

The high­light so far has been the construc­tion of a school, which opened at the begin­ning of 2024. A real game changer for the chil­dren of the orphanage and the entire village commu­nity! And to be continued: We will report regu­larly on life, learning and all devel­op­ments at HOREMI in this blog!

One year of HOREMI Junior School!

The Horemi Junior School has success­fully completed its first year — and eleven kids have mastered pre-school with flying colors. That’s some­thing to cele­brate!
